Most British Colombian have either done the West Coast Trail or have plans to. Either way it has set the bar for testing you mettle. There is an immediate (and somewhat righteous) bond between people who have done this trail. The amount of rain and levels of mud (in feet) are usually compared, and the less sun you had the tougher your story sounds. For all of its adversities (Rain, Mud, broken ladders, popularity) it truly is an Epic Trek. Located on the West Coast of Vancouver Island between Bamfield and Port Renfrew, this trek must be booked months in advance.
